Sending a note using e-mail keeps the Outlook process running

I have Outlook and OneNote 2003 SP1.

After I send a note through e-mail when I exit Outlook
the Outlook process continues to run until I exit OneNote.

As anybody else seen that?

Do you have the Outlook icon in the Notification area? Right-click it - is
"hide when Minimize" selected?
