Sending a Word document as an Attachment

in 2007, when I go to send a Word document as an attachment, all the options
are greyed out except the options to Fax, or publish to and Adobe Acrobat
PDF file and email or Send for Review. How do I activate the other options?

I corrected the problem by installing Outlook, which I didn't do on the
initial installation.
