Sending an iPhoto

I have my iPhoto preferences set to use Microsoft Entourage 2008 version
12.0.1 as my default email and when I select a photo in iPhoto version 7.1.3
I get a dialogue box that says "Mail Photo" where you can select size and it
gives you photo count and estimated size etc. When I select "Compose" a
drop down box appears for about 1 second, too short of a time for me to
read, but I think it says composing then nothing else happens.

I expected a new mail message to appear but that doesn't happen.

My work around is to drag the photo to the desk top (it then is a big file
size) and drag it in to a new mail message.

Has this been reported before and is there a fix.

Thanks
Steven

In iPhoto, you need to select Entourage as the default email application.
Select the photo and select Email. It sounds like iPhoto is trying to use
Mail.

iPhoto preferences --> General --> Email photos using (select Microsoft
Entourage from the popup)

Select the photo and click on the purple E to email the photo. A window pops
up allowing you to select size. Click "Compose". A new email will open in
Entourage with the photo attached.

In Entourage 2008, select the new Toolbox and click on the right icon,
Object Palette. Select the camera tab. This puts you into iPhoto. It does
not give any options to reduce photos though. As a comparison, email from
iPhoto on medium produced an attachment of 56.98 KB. The same photo dragged
in from the Object Palette was 1.13 MB.

Diane thanks for the response. I had already selected Entourage as the
default iPhoto email application and was using the purple E to send the
photo out.

I discovered something based on your response using the Tools/Toolbox/Object
Palette/Camera selection. The photo I was trying to send was not shown in
the Object Palette box under any of the choices (photos, albums, rolls or
other library folder). Even though the photos show up in iPhoto under
events and I can edit them they are not visible to me in any of the photo
folders on the Macintosh HD. When I dragged them to the desk top I put them
back in the same folder but now I can't drag them back to the desktop. Also
if I double click on them I get a full screen with a big ! on a black
background.

I ran a test using another photo from another event and it did open
Entourage email with the photo attached so I guess it was set up correctly
but for some reason the photos I was trying to send didn't get saved to the
right place.

Not sure what I need to do at this point since I already sent the photos out
and probably won't need to access them again and other photos are available
to email. I will delete the event and hopefully when I need the capability
again in the future it will work.

Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully, it will help another user experiencing
the same problem.
