Sending e-mail to a server folder as a file

I recently learned that e-mails can be saved to a folder on our LAN using a
..msg or .rtf extension (this is a LAN folder, not a folder within Outlook).
I know how to do this with e-mails already sent. Is there a way to have the
e-mail go to a specifed server folder automatically upon sending? This would
eliminate the step of going to "sent mail" and saving the e-mail to the
folder.

not within outlook. some content control utilities archive messages in this
manner or you could try using VBA.
