sending e-mail with wireless

Hi there,

little problem...
I've setup a wireless network for a friend..nothing sophisticated..just two
laptops, a netgear modem/router..easy. Wireless signal is good/very good -
I've done all the tuning.

BUT...e-mail via outlook is a bit of a problem- same problem for both laptops.

If we set up an e-mail and 'send' it...it sits in the outbox (as I've got
all the settings not to send immediately). When I hit send/receive it goes
through the motions and gives an error ( (0x800CCC0F) "server was
interrupted"
If we click open the outbox file and send it again...it goes !!!! every
time.....on the second send

Incoming mail is received OK first time.

What's going on ????? and Thanks in advance 'cos I know your going to have
the answer...

Two things to look at: the MTU on the routers should be 1492, I believe.
The second thing is to disable mail scanning with an AV package.

I've looked at every field on every page on my router and I can't find
anything like 'MTU' - sorry to be stupid - what is it ?

Aaah....I see MTU means "Max Transmission Unit".
Had another look on my router and I can't see anything anywhere that shows
this or allows me to set it.....
I've got a Netgear DG834 Firewall/Router
