sending email not in outbox

I am using outlook 2002 and Outlook keeps trying to send messages not in my
outbox and messages that I have not sent. I am using Norton 2004 antivirus
and is is updated and runs every day, detecting no virus. These emails are
going to multiple addresses that I have never sent an email to. I'm catching
these with the Zone Alarm mail safe program that is version 6.1.737 and is
kept current.
