Sending email Outlook 2003 sends 6 copies

When I send an email sometimes the recipient receives 6 copies of the
original? It doesn't happen all the time but does appear to be the same
people.
Could someone please help with this.

Its a common issue caused by your virus scanner integrating with Outlook.
Disable/uninstall this feature of your virus scanner and try again.

Could aslo be the receipients virus scanner, particularly if this only
happens to specific receipients

Thanks for the help. I checked the virus scanner, it was not scanning
outgoing mail. I have turned off the email scanner to send some emails to
check the results. It appears to be only duplicating large emails with
attachments.

Turning off the scanner isn't sufficient; it still would remain integrated
with Outlook. You really have to disable its integration with Outlook. For
some virus scanner this requires a reinstall and then specifically select
not to install mail scanning feature.
