Sending emails by category, and folder with Outlook 2007

Steve

My son has written his first mystery book. I would not like to help him
promote his book by sending a mass email.

Two questions:
1. I have a category in my Contacts of about 50 friends I would like to
notify. I would like to send a blind email to all so as to not disclose
their emails in a group. My question is how can I create and an email, and
then send it as a blind carbon copy (bcc) email to a category within my
Contacts?

2. I have a special folder where I move emails from my inbox. I would like
to send a bcc email to just this one special folder. How do i do this?

Thank you,

Steve

A mail merge using the Contacts Folder Category as the data source would be
the best way to go.
You could also create a Distribution List from these contacts and put the DL
in the BCC field to hide the addresses. However, DL's don't work very well
and many ISP's won't let you send a single message to that many recipients.

Your other question is difficult to understand. How would you expect to send
a message to a Folder that contains emails not Contacts?

2. you mean to the senders of those messages? You need to use a utility that
grabs the addresses or you can install a CFG file that exposes the email
addresses - create a custom view that has only the senders address field,
copy and paste into a new message.

See http://www.slipstick.com/exs/customfields.htm for the CFG file and
http://www.slipstick.com/Tutorials/cfg/getaddress.htm if you need help
making the view.
