Sending emails from Outlook Pro 2007

Gordon

I am having a problem sending emails from Outlook 2007. The below error
messages comes up from McAfee when I try to send to certain email addresses /
accounts
After you verify the format of your recipient address, McAfee recommends
that you resend those messages from your email program
The error log is providing the below message
553 sorry, that domain isn’t in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

Turn off all email scanning, especially when using McAfee products.

Thanks for getting back so quick. I turned off the McAfee settings and still
received the same error message as in my first mail.

I tried to configure my SMTP server settings to use authentication and
received the following error messages –
Your email server rejected your login with SPA. Verify your account
prosperities.
Test email message: None of the authentication methods supported by the
client are supported by your server

I then turned off the SPA and ran a test – I received the following message:
Test email message: None of the authentication methods supported by the
client are supported by your server

Contact your ISP for the exact SMTP settings. There are so many variations
in it that it is not worth guessing turning options on/off.

try this.......open outlook...go to tools...select email accounts...select
view or change existing email accounts.....make sure you highlight the email
you have as your default email client......select change....select more
settings.......select tab outgoing server......make sure the box is ticked
that says my out going server requires authenication...highlight bullet -use
same settings as incomming mail server....ok and hopefully bobs your uncle so
to speak :-}

HI there
My email client does not support me changing the settings to “server
requires authenticationâ€.
However I did change from using McAfee to now using MS OneCare. However the
problem still persists and the error message I am getting is (553 sorry, that
domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)) I am sending a mail
from my home laptop to my work email address, which is ironic as I work for
Microsoft and one would have thought that the two systems would talk to each
other quite well. I seem to have no problems sending to other email addresses
both personal and my friends work addresses. Can you help further on this
issues I am having? Thanks

FYI...

I just got thru dealing with this same problem and I use McAfee Security
Center.
The solution had nothing to do with McAfee as McAfee was only relaying the
msg returned by the ISP. The solution was to do as previously recomended and
change the outgoing mail server settings to enable 'My Outgoing Mail Server
Requires..' and select 'Use the same....' option.

If your email client doesn't have this exact option, perhaps it has
something similiar but located via a different path? A serach on your email
client and 'outgoing mail server' &
authentication' might help???

Hi. I just managed to fix tis problem here. Basically my site is hosting my
incoming and outgoing email. Recently my ISP (Comcast) must have blocked port
24 which is used to relay email through them to my outgoing server. I had to
change my outgoing server to Comcast. This solved the problem... at least for
now. Hope this helps.

Hi Guys,

i've just upgraded to Outlook pro plus 2007 and i'm geting strange errors -

Case 1 - Following error message when in the settings i've not checked
option of "My SMTP server requires authentication"
Send test e-mail message: An unknown error occurred, error code: 0x80040607

Case 2 - This time i checked the option of "My SMTP server requires
authentication" and selected option of - Use same sttings as my incoming
server.
Send test e-mail message: None of the authentication methods supported by
this client are supported by your server.

Case 3 - when i supplied log on information with and without SPA option.
Send test e-mail message: None of the authentication methods supported by
this client are supported by your server.

Case 4 - When i used the option of log on to incoming mail server before
sending mail.
Send test e-mail message: An unknown error occurred, error code: 0x80040607

Now i'm a bit confused since this was not there when i was using outlook
2003. can anyone please help.
Regards,

Suresh

I had this issue as well, even after I changed the 'my out going server
requires authenication' and 'use same settings as incoming server' was
checked.

It appears to affect only the 'Test Account Settings' button. My email
worked fine anyway.

I'm seeing this same error on my Outlook 2007 (part of Office Pro) with
Business Contact Manager installed.

I can receive emails, but cannot send them. My outgoing mail server is
smtp.central.cox.net, and it works fine on Outlook2003
