Sending emails out of Word 2007

I have a new PC with Office Professional 2007 installed and have a small but
iriatating problem, I don't know if it is an Outlook or an Office 2007
problem as I have never used Outlook before:

When creating a document in Word 2007 and then sending by email, it opens
Outlook and sends the word document as an attachment.

In Office 2003 when I sent a Word document it would open WinMail and the
Word document was visible / embedded in the email, can I get Word & Outlook
2007 to do that?

And is there a way to make saving as a .doc file the default method as I
don't know anyone who can open .docx files or who can be bothered to
download the .docx viewer

Word has always used your default e-mail client to send a document in an e-mail message. If you don't wish to have Outlook 2007 as your default e-mail client you are certainly free to choose another e-mail client.

Once you have chosen a new default e-mail client, see this information for a convenient way to send a document in an e-mail message:

To save Word 2007 documenbts in Word 97 - 2003 format (.doc) by default, look in Word 2007 Help or look here:

Here is the link to the free Word viewer, to spare you the bother of looking it up:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...88-7CFA-457A-9AEC-F4F827F20CAC&displaylang=en

To install this download:
1- Download the file by clicking the "Download" button on the page and saving the file to your hard disk.
2- Double-click the wdviewer.exe program file on your hard disk to start the Setup program.
3- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

I was able to do all that in less than a minute on my pokey computer at work. ;-)

Thanks for that, exactly what I needed to know - when you have a suite of programs like Office I guess it's all a matter of trying to find things!
