Sending Emails while downloading...

Hi Guys,

I have a PC on my network that has an Outlook exchange server account in
addition to a POP account. While downloading e-mails from the POP account, i
cannot send any email from the exchange one. In other words, the emails will
stay in the outbox untill all emails are downloaded.
Is there any workaround to send the mails w/o waiting the download?
MS office outlook 2003 w SP2.
