OK, so I assume you can "Print" to the Fax?
In which case, you could simply create a normal data merge as describe in
the Word Help.
However, you must first discover how to specify the fax number. I assume
that the Brother software pops up a dialog box that prompts for the Fax
Number when you print to the fax?
You need to ask Brother how to programmatically enter the fax number into
tat dialog. Because it's a "Print" dialog, Word cannot reach it. All
printing in OS X is done by the Operating System and the Printer Driver ‹
Word has no control over that part of the software.
But AppleScript does. If Brother can tell you how to specify the fax number
in AppleScript, we can get you the rest of the way. Sorry, but only Brother
will know: it will be entirely specific to the driver of the printer you are
using.
Hope this helps
I am using a Mac G5 Dual Processor 10.3.9. I am using a Brother MFC
420CN to fax.
