Sending files to the Recycle Bin

When I try to send files to the Recycle Bin, they get
deleted instead. When I hit delete, I get the
message "are you sure you want to delete this file"
instead of the message "are you sure you want to send this
file to the recycle bin". It happens with both Word and
Excel documents. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, only files you delete from your hard disk drive go to the
Recycle Bin. If you are deleting from a floppy disk or network drive,
the Recycle Bin is not used.

I too have been wondering why they just get deleted. Just went to my own
Recycle Bin Properties. The box you mentioned is greyed out and cannot be
accessed.

Can you advise me please. 20% I have allocated for my "Global" tab. Is this
too much or not enough for storage to the bin?

Thanks in advance
