I have been using Outlook for several years with multiple POP mail accounts.
I have just switched to IMAP, and I am pleased that I no longer need to use
rules to organize mail I receive through different email accounts. The
problem, however, is how to configure Outlook so that I can still send from
different email addresses, all of which are linked to a single IMAP account.
My IMAP provider has a feature that allows me to copy automatically any
messages sent through its SMTP server to my IMAP Sent folder, so I would not
even need to save the messages in my local Sent Items folder. Ideally, I
would like to configure "SMTP Only" accounts that would use my IMAP
provider's SMTP servers. Or is the only alternative I have to keep the POP
accounts that I previously set up and change the SMTP server information to
be my new IMAP provider's?
