Sending .jpg files

When I send a .jpg file, some people receive it OK, send receive it as .dat
files, some do not receive the attachment at all. Does anyone know why it
would send some OK, some w/.dat file extension and some not receive at all?
Do you think the problem is on the sender or receiver side and know how to
correct this problem so that everyone receives as a .jpg file. Any help
would be appreciated.

Thanks bunches :)

What format are you sending the message in: RTF or HTML? RTF messages
should not be sent to non-Microsoft email clients, so better always use
HTML or Plain Text format.

Thanks again :)
