Sending Notes to Non-Notes Users

I work for a State were we use Groupwise. I am checking out OneNote and
found that I can only save in .one or .mht format. It is almost counter
productive to use OneNote if I can't send the data to those in a generally
accepted format. What are my options? I read another discussion thread were
someone was asking about "Word" capability. While OneNote can be a word
processing software, it would be most beneficial to export the OneNote items
to MS Word. It would also seem like the conversion would be excellent,
maintaining much of the format, given both are MS Products.

Not a bad suggestion. .MHT is just a single-page web file though so
anybody you send those too should be able to read them without difficulty.

Hello,

But if you have SP1 installed there is a File-->Save As feature which
will let you select MS Word .doc format.

I have SP1 installed, but there is no .doc option in the "save As" dialogue.
I have Office 2000 installed only, may this be the reason?

I can copy and paste a page to MS Word 2000, but it looks too weird to be
useful.

Will MS Word 2003 preserve the formatting of OneNote, especially the arrangement
of pictures and containers?

If you save as Word 2003 yes. It's not good enough to send those notes as
web pages?

This is a good way.

Unfortunately, OneNote uses a proprietary format which only Internet Explorer
can read. And even IE does not display it properly. E.g. freehand lines look
a bit jittery. I had hoped to be able to use Word to replace them by straight
lines and convert the format to normal html.

In my setup the option is in the File Menu labeled "Send To". It is not
available using File SaveAs.

Thanks for your reply. The "Send to" menu is empty in my installation. I
guess because I still use "Office 2000".

Most of the inter-action with Office programs is available only in Office
2003 version products.
