Sending out multiple emails in Outlook 03

Outlook 2003 SP 2, XP Pro workstation.
When a user sends out one email, the recipient receives duplicate emails?
I don't know if the user has rules set up in his/her outlook that would be
the cause of this, but I don't know how to troubleshoot this.

What type of mail account is this?

Is AV scanning the incoming/outgoing email? If so, this is the most common
cause of this behaviour. AV doesn't need integration with email and the real
time scanner would catch anything it's updated for so security is not
compromised.

I don't understand the question...it's a corporate account/using exchange
server 2003. Is that what you are implying?

I'll have to get check with my network admin on the scanning of incoming and
outgoing emails.

Yes, that's what I meant by type of account (Exchange, POP3, etc.).

This issue could also be at the recipient's end.

We do have AV scanning the incoming/outgoing emails and it's quite imporant
that we keep it on. From what I found out, it only happened to one email in
particular.

It is not important at all to keep it on. If you uninstall the AV program
and reinstall it without the mail scanninf feature, you will be just as
protected and it won't interfere with mail reception.

Why would it be important to keep AV scanning of email turned on in an
Exchange environment? Everything (spam filter, etc.) should be happening on
the Exchange end. The real time scanner on the PC should catch whatever it's
updated for.
