sending photographs

When I download digital photographs from my camera I put them in the Photo
file in My Documents. Each selection of photos are in a separate folder
My problem is when I want to forward this folder to someone I don't seem to
be able to send the folder as a whole as an attachment. I have to select
each photo separately, when there are 80 photos this takes forever. Then
when I want to send the email it takes ages and the recipient complains that
it is taking ages to open on their computer.
Is there any way this can be done a lot quicker.
