sending & receiving email via entourage not possible

am a new mac user very green. i live in France and have a home dell windows pc on french broadband - i have activated the access to the internet via wep code taken from my alice broadband box and access internet via wifi for my mac - its great i have been only messing around for a week or so on my new mac. i access the internet via the web site yahoo.co.uk and access my email using their software. i have just loaded
my new software microsoft office 2008 onto my mac and attempted several times to use entourage as my default email software however i keep getting error messages i set up all the info as per yahoo foruma but it does not work. Am i approaching this all in the wrong way - ? i have attempted to put in all the pop etc from aliceadl.fr my home broadband however it looks like it will only work if i put the correct info in with yahoo my account is sea.cook@ymail i have a basic account please help and sorry to be so thick.

I would try this one first:

1. If you can receive but not send then you have a bad SMTP configuration
2. If you can send but not receive you have a bad POP or IMAP configuration

You can try re-entering info.
You can delete account and create a new one.(not just the info...the
account)
Using copy/paste can result in an extra space being added. Type carefully.

Did you update? Look in the Menu bar under Entourage in the Menu bar. Select
About Entourage.

If you are updated fully, you should see this:

Entourage 12.2.0
Latest installed update: 12.2.1

If you are not updated, follow these steps to update.
