sending & receiving, outlook asks for user name & password heaps.

hello.
When our outlook is sending and receiving (dial up connection) it keeps
bringing up a screen with our user name and password with "ok" and "cancel"
at the bottom. this happens approximately every 10 seconds when downloading a
message.
How do I stop it. It shows "Pop3" at the top.
