sending report error (0x800CCC65)?

having updated windows explorer recently...now microsoft outlook will only
receive mail but posts an error report on sending mail.

"Your outgoing (SMPT) e-mail server has reported an internal error.
The server responded: 503 Valid RCPT command must precede DATA.
"

The most common cause of this is having an antivirus program configured to
scan your mail. Uninstall your AV program and reinstall it without the mail
scanning feature. You will be just as safe and it won't interfere with
Outlook.
