Sending to Contacts and Getting "The requested operation failed."

I just started using Outlook and imported my contacts from Eudora. They look
fine, but when I open a new email, select a name from the contacts list, and
then send, I get a message from the system administrator:
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
The requested operation failed.
So, I went in and changed the names in the Contacts list manually and I
still get the same message when I send to a contact in the address book. If I
reply to an email, however, it goes through fine.

Most likely you failed to create valid, resolved electronic addresses in
your Contact Records. Importing often fails to create valid Contact Records.
Create a new Contact from scratch and see if you can send to that Contact.
If not, then post the precise steps by which you are creating and sending
the message, including your mail transport type and version.

It may be that you did not map the email address field to the correct
Outlook field and as a result the Email Address Type field does not contain
the value "SMTP".

A common mistake when importing is selecting Outlook's "Email" (or "Email 2"
/ "Email 3") field instead of expanding the root Email field and then
selecting the corresponding "Email Address" (or "Email 2 Address"/"Email 3
Address" as the case may be) field which will result in Outlook in properly
filling in the "Email Address Type" field (assuming you are only importing
SMTP email address fields (i.e. (e-mail address removed)) ).

You can view the value of the "Email Address Type" field by opening any
contact that has the problem, select "All Fields" followed by "Email Fields"
or "All Contact Fields".

I receive a similar message but only when I'm replying to one particularly
person:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
[Subject and Sent info]

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
[Recipient, date, and time info]
The requested operation failed.

- - - - - - - - - - - - -

I can create a new email message and send it to her without a problem. It
is only when I reply to one of her messages that the problem occurs.

She is using Outlook Express while I am using Outlook 2003. These are
personal email accounts so neither of us are using Exchange server.

Sounds like this person might have a misset Reply-To address.
