Sending to Distibution List fails until I click Expand List?

I'm using Exchange in SBS2000 and I have a lot of terminals
with Office 2003. When one of the Office 2003 machines
tries to send mail to our companys internal distribution
list the mail will send but doesn't show up on any of the
machines. If before sending the sender clicks on the
expand list + sign in front of the distribution list all of
the names on the list show up and the mail sends properly.
Can't determine why this fails and I need to click the +
to get it to work...
