Sending to Groups

Groups and Entourage do not seem to work here. Is there a limit on the
number of people in a group that Entourage can handle? We use Exchange
servers (Exchange 2003) and Entourage 11.3.3. Here's the latest:

One of our users has a group of 70 recipients. She adds the group to
the TO box. She has a couple other groups that she has added to the Cc
box - 2 groups, 40 people each. When she sends the message out, it
does not reach the recipients and, when she checks her sent items, all
the recipients are in the bcc field.

Other users CANNOT use the bcc field to send to large amounts of
recipients.

What are the limits and can we fake Entourage out??

Entourage has no limit. ISPs do. Usually it¹s 50. Get this script "Split
Recipients". This script will replicate messages into the number of copies
needed to comply with an ISP's maximum number of recipients allowed per
outgoing message.

Our ISP isn't causing this - Windows users can send to as many folks
as they want - I'm only having this problem with Entourage users. In
addition, these messages aren't even leaving the district; they are
all internal folks in the groups. I'm the exchange administrator as
well - we have no limits set on number of recipients - I've checked
and double-checked. We've been dealing with this problem for a few
years - even with Outlook 2001 (mac), we couldn't send to large groups
of folks.

Any other suggestions?? This is becoming a rampant problem. Even if an
Entourage user is selecting 200 recipients straight from the global
address book (no group), the messages are not delivered if they are
sent bcc... Does anyone know why Entourage would automatically move a
group from the TO field to the BCC field??

I'll download the script and see if it helps - thanks.

Look for a malformed email address in your BCC list. A malformed address
in the To or CC fields will display an error but a malformed address in
the BCC field will silently fail the message or at least fail from the
bad address through the end of the list.

Check for spaces because these aren't always noticed without looking for
them.

Hope this helps! bill
