sending to multiple recipients

I want to send an email to everyone in my address book letting them know
my new email address. I copied and p;asted all names (about 300) into the
Bcc field to they couldn't read other people's addressess, but when I try to
send it I get an error message that says I have too many recipients.

Is there any way around this?

What is the maximum number of recipients for a single email?
