Sent Box - Three copies of every sent message

I am running Outlook 2007. I had to format my hard disk after it crashed.
Though every thing is working fine but when I send a message, three copies
of it are present in my Sent box though the recepient receives only one
copy.
How do I prevent multiple copies from being saved in the sent box?

Have you checked your rules to see if they are running rampant without the
stop processing more rules option checked?

Thanks Milly for pointing out the cause of the problem. It has been resolved
as the rules had multiple sets of the same rules.
