Sent Email to Charter.net users getting returned-msg 501 Syntax error in parameters or arguments

Since last weekend, Feb 24, many hotmail users are trying to email to
our buddies with "Charter.net" email addresses and the emails are
being returned due to delivery failure.....Any ideas why or how to
fix?
I am able to send emails to anyone else just not charter.net all of a
sudden.
I am getting this message,
Action: failed
Status: 5.5.0
Diagnostic-Code: smtp; 501 Syntax error in parameters or arguments
Any help would be greatly appreciated )
