Sent Folder Problems

The e mails from my Sent folder have vanished and even though the option to
save copies of e mails in Sent Folder is chosen in the Tools/options menu-
this isn't happening. Can someone please tell me how to fix this? I find it
useful to keep copies of sent mail as it is a way of checking who and what I
said!
I am running XP with service pack 2 and Office 2003

I have checked the View, it is by date and messages. Copies of e mails I
have sent are not being saved even though I have chosen that option. I have
never had this problem before and I have been using computers for 12 years!
