sent items not showing up in outlook 2000

i am having problems in outlook 2000 where i can send and receive messages
without any problems, but the sent messages do not appear in the sent items
folder...i have checked the archiving and message rules, but cannot seem to
find any reason why they are disappearing....any thoughts would be much
appreciated

Under 'Tools|Options|Preferances|E-mail Options', make sure the "Save copies
of messages in Sent Items folder" checkbox is checked.
