I have entourage saving my sent items in the folder named Sent which is an
imap folder... When I go into that folder there are no messages beyond
nov 25th.... But when I search for the message I just sent it shows in the
search as in THAT folder.. But I cant see any messages newer than nov 25 (in
all views I tried them all).

I have tried download message bodies (which is moot since search finds it so
its definitely in my email), refresh message list neither changed anything
I made sure that there are no other folders named Sent ‹ and I even did a
search WithIn that folder for the message it then showed up.

I am completely stumped...
Thanks

Just wanted to post I figured this issue out - I had it set to ŒGroup
items¹ - which apparently might not be properly functioning... When I turned
that off bingo there¹s my messages.
Very strange.

Arrange by group, filters messages with the criteria selected. Obviously,
the wrong criteria was selected.

I use Groups to help sort my messages. You can set different settings for
folders. See these pages for help:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/get_started/views.html#New-35882>

I use this arrangement for reading the Entourage newsgroup messages. (did
you know you could view the Mactopia forum messages in Entourage?)

Name: Lists Expanded
Group items by: Subject
Sort groups by Sent Newest on top
Sort items within groups by Conversation A on Top
Default display for groups Expanded

While I understand the logic behind this -- the criteria I had selected was
by received (date) so logically than it should have grouped by date.... All
I got was the group 'older' and nothing else... I have the same sort
(group - by receive date) on my exchange sent items - works fine (shows
older, last week, yesterday, today etc for the groups. So I think this is a
bug either w. imap or entourage.

I suppose the assumption is that anything that falls under "older" should
already have been dealt with. :)

If you use the View "Preview Pane" below or "None" you do get a column with
dates and the messages will be sorted from newest to oldest.

If you can explain the folder and types and what you are trying to achieve
through this group setting, we might be able to offer another way to
approach this using 3 pane view.

Oh no worries -- I just want to to let you know that what works for exchange
folders doesn't work for imap folders... I am quite content with not
grouping the sent items at all :D
(I use preview pane on the right by the way).

Me too! Many users are still stuck in preview pane below.

btw i thought i would mention this happened AGAIN to me - very
frustrating - turns out they also don't show up if you sort by received
rather than sent date.... (because i guess it doesn't see them as the
same date (for sent items outlook sees receive and sent date as the same
date).
