Sent Mail/Send & Recieve

Everytime I bring up Outlook, in the send recieve dialog
box it shows that it is sending messages even though
there are no messages to be sent in the outbox. Plus,
these messages do not show up in the sent mail folder. I
have full Norton Internet security suite. Any ideas?

It could be that Outlook is sending read receipts. They won't show up in
either the outbox or the sent items folder.
