Is there a way to have sent mail shown by name mail was sent to, rather
than listed by my email address and subject. This would make searching
for sent mail by name of addressee much easier. Thanks for any help.

that's usually the default - did you do something to change that?
Right-click on the column headers, choose "Field Chooser" and drag the "To"
field to the column headers. You can then remove the "From" field...

Select the "Sent To" view, but that should be the Sent Item folder's default
view.
