My sent messages do not go into the sent items folder. I have the box checked under preferences-compose to save sent messages to sent items folder, however they do not go there, they just seem to go anywhere.

Normally, messages going to the wrong folder has nothing to do with
rebuilding your database.

I see Adam replied with how to rebuild. If you continue to have problems,
post a new message. It's confusing to mix different users problems in the
same thread.

Did you realize this is not a web forum, but a web interface to this
newsgroup? The Mactopia web interface is just one way to access. If you can
do an email, then you can use the Entourage newsreader.

Another benefit is messages are downloaded and searchable by Entourage's
Spotlight search. By clicking on the "more" button you can get older
messages to search for help.

Likewise, Now I get the Error message 50 all the time when I select my sent folder. I did not have this problem to this degree (used to happen once in a while) until I installed the latest updates for "Office for Mac 2008" a couple of weeks ago.

Is this -50 or 50?

If it's Error -50, run the installer over your current install from the
install DVD, restart then update to SP1.
