Separate pages for separate inserted docs and pictures

When trying to insert several pages from my 5550c HP scanner into word, they all come out stacked on top of each other
How can I do this so each scanned page is inserted into Word as separate pages
I use to be able to do this with my old scanner but I think the problem lies in how my Word is set up because I get the same problem when trying to insert multiple large pictures...They just keep stacking on top of each other
