Separating a label from a text box in a report

Hello.
I seem to recall that in previous versions of Access there was a hand with a
pointing index finger that enabled you to move a label away from its related
data bound control. Does this feature still exist?
Basically, I'm trying to create a report with 2 layers of controls in the
detail section, because the number of controls is wider than a page and I
want to squeeze them all on one page; hence, the proposed two layers. But
Access doesn't seem to allow me to stack the labels in the header or to stack
data bound controls in the detail section.
Any ideas?

The "pointing finger" allows you to move a label independently from the
control it is attached to, but only within the same section.

For what you want, select the label, "cut" it to the Windows clipboard,
select the desired section and "paste". Now you have an independent
label not associated with the control at all.

Thanks Rick. Maybe I can give you a little more detail.

First of all, I am using Access 2007.

Can you tell me how to get the pointing finger? I can't recall the shortcut.

Also, I tried what you suggested, but it does not seem to work for me. When
I click on the label in the header and then Cut, both the label and the
related data-bound control in the Detail section disappear. I was trying to
move the label independently.

Also, will the technique that you suggest enable me to create two layers of
labels in the header and two layers of labels in the Detail section to solve
the problem with the page not being wide enough for all the controls, that I
mentioned below?
