sequential numbering in word

Hi,

Looking for a solution in word to number automaticly new documents with
a number in the document.
For ex. in doc1 number in the document is number001
When opening template second time number should go to number002

Is there a way to do this?
can imagine that lots of people need this (offers, invoices, reports, ...)
so don't like te reinvent the wheel a second time

since I switched to office 2008, vba is no longer an option
I read that all the functions in vba are also available in applesript...
is there an easy way to translate the vba code to applescript?

By no means all, unfortunately.

Apparently not (I'm not an Applescript expert though). I expect that's why
Bob said to check back in case someone else comes along who knows more.
