Serial Code cofusion!

I was given a 25 digit serial code when I bought OnNote 2007. However it
didn't ask for it during installation. Just the Product ID number. Has the
installation automatically used my Office 2003 serial number? If so how do I
change it, or get a product ID number? Are they the same for all OneNote
programmes, or different depending on user? Arrrgh. Sorry, getting very
frustrated.

The product ID number (25-characters) is used to validate your copy of the
program/suite. Technically, there is no "serial number".
