Serial communication

Can anyone tell me if Access VB has the capability sending and receiving data
via serial/comm port and if so where can I find some sample code that shows
me how to accomplish this?

I believe so. I worked for an organization in which I had heard that
there was an Access DB that had the capability to authorize credit card
charges. I never saw the DB let alone the code.
