serial number / product key

hello
I am trying to get a handle on our companie's cabinet file of Office disks.
We use Track-it software for software inventory and I am wondering if there
is a way to take the serial number of Office and tie it back to the product
key. Any suggestions?

Of course there is a tool for almost anything these days. To get Windows or
Office serial number from the system, you need to run this tool:

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/produkey.zip

To tie it back to to the Product ID (the number you see in Help, About button)
is not important because in almost all cases it is the same for that product.
The only difference is when you use VLK, OEM, Retail, Home & Students etc etc.
