Serial (sequence?) number in a form tableView

I wand to put a Serial (sequence?)number in a form
design (tableview)like the following, counting the records.
The recordset is a result of a selection query.

1 john
2 mary
...
...
n george

The recordset is a result of filtering via VBA code.

I work with Access 2000
