I have discovered a serious issue in Excel 2008 which means I should not use it at all to avoid destroying data for my company. The rest of the company uses Windows. Today I tried to open an Excel document created using Office 2007. I got this message from Exel:
"This workbook contains content not supported by Excel 2008 for Mac
- More than two data filter criteria"
I was given the option to open it in read-only mode which I did. This is bad enough. I thought there was complete compatibility between the Mac and Windows versions. But what happened next is worse to say the least. When I closed the document it was deleted! I was very lucky to be able to recover the deleted document. I made a copy of it and have tried this several times now. Every time I close Excel with this document open it is deleted. This needs to be fixed as soon as possible. Is it a known error?
