i already installed office2003 as u can see but attempting a
reinstall/repair/remove all gives me the same outcome.
even tried using the listool and gave me an error with no number as soon as
i ran it.
had success with using the windows installer cleanup but then when i try to
install office i get an error too and i end up with no office2003 entry in my
add/remove box at all. the only thing that saved me a couple of times was
system restore points.
worth noting is that i have 2 folders MSOcache on my D: drive due to system
restoring thing ... one is 11.2MB (msocache) and the other is 2.16MB
(msocache2)
i came along this :
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;830168
and it talks about controlling where ur msocache file will be created by
modifying ur setup.ini but how the heck am i supposed to do that when my
setup.ini file is on a CD and i cant rwrite to it?!
my D: drive 15Gigs.
so ... i wonder is there a way to remedy this or is there a way to manually
delete/remove all office2003 products not uninstall them?
and clean all the registry stuff and then use windows install cleaner to
remove all the entries from control panel?
then re-install office again(same path and location) ?
i cant use the repai/install/uninstall options to change anything in my
office products.
used the win install cleanup and tried to install from source again but
always getting errors (1635 and 1603)
one more thing plz .... in the ms services window ... is the Office Source
Engine meant to be manual or automatic ?
i have it as manual but on the left there's the start the service option and
i was wondering should it be started or should i leave it alone ?
thnx all
