Server 2003 and Pro 2007

I have Pro 2003 installed on my desktop and I am using Project Server 2003.
My IT dept does not want to conduct an upgrade of MS Project and Server until
after upgrading and virtualizing all servers. Can I run Project Pro 2007 as a
stand alone app on my desktop to open and backsave mpp files I receive from
vendors until IT upgrades to Server 2007?

Although it is not recommended, desktop MS Project Clients (such as Project
2003 Pro and Project 2007 Pro) will peacefully co-exist on the desktop. For
me, the easiest installation was to have Project Pro2003 fully installed with
all service packs (SP2 is most current) prior to installation of 2007.

When you talk to the servers you have to do it version to verion.
2003-2003, 2007-2007. The other combinations will not work.
