server 2003

Does anyone have experience with interfacing outlook 2000
with server 2003 from a remote location.

Cannot get into the server via local cable modem and
internet.

Do you know server 2003 settings that could prevent the
connection between the two? I am capable of getting the
messages from Outlook Web but this is not desireable.

Thank you,

You mean Exchange Server 2003? Ask the administrator whether you should be
using VPN or HTTP over RPC to connect.

Doesn't RPC over HTTP require Outlook 2003, Exchange 2003 and Windows XP SP1
as a minimum? It would not be an option with Outlook 2000. VPN would be the
only practical choice given Outlook 2000.

Yes, it does. I must have had the wrong glasses on and read Outlook 2000,
instead of Outlook 2003. Anyway, the advice still stands. David needs to ask
his administrator about a VPN.
