server application, source file cannot be found error during insert chart OS X 10.3.2

Mac OS X 10.3.2 client with network home directories with Office X
patched up to 10.1.5 cannot do Insert Chart or Organaization chart as
this version FAILS repeatedly with error:

"The server application, source file or item cannot be found. Check
that path and file name are correct or try reinstalling the server
application."

If I delete the file ~/Home/Library/Microsoft/Office Registration
Cache X - I CAN then insert a chart for the first TIME and then save
file as usual. If I immediately or login out/in again and then run
Powerpoint and insert a chart again -- I get the above error. This
happens whether or not the preferences are managed or NOT in OS X
10.3.2. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN with version 10.2.6 client that we are
running NOW on 600 Macs!

Inserting clipart, word art, table, auto shape, and object Excel chart
all WORK FINE with 10.3.2 JUST the insert organization and chart FAIL
repeatedly.

This is a major problem in that you cannot insert charts unless the
user deletes this Office Registration Cache X BEFORE running
Powerpoint 10.1.5 ( also 10.1.3 and 10.1.4 as well) USING network
directories every time! ARGH!!!!

I confirm:
The items in the Insert Object menu (Equation chart,...) are only
available the first time you run Word.
You can get them back if you delete the file "Office Registration
Cache X" in the Library/Preferences/Microsoft folder. But again, only
for the first time. You have to delete this file before EACH time you
run an Office program.
It is absolutely reproducible in three different macs (latest updates
OSX 10.3.3 and Office 10.1.5).
I tried to replace the file by an empty root owned file with the same
name but Word overwrites it even without permissions! I tried also to
link it to the Administrator file (under Administrator Word works OK)
but the link is also overwritten by Word.
You will find other topics in the internet confirming the same
problem. It is amazing that no mention is
made of this bug in the Microsoft site.
The Equation Editor is among the few reasons for which I use Microsoft
Word and not OpenOffice. If Microsoft doesn't show up a patch quickly
I think I will switch 100% to OpenOffice.
