I am trying to create a single, "global" address book containing the email
addresses of each user in my building. Ideally, I would like to have a
single address book live on the server, which would then be copied to a local
directory on the user station via a logon script. All of the Outlook
accounts would be configured to look in this directory for the address book.
This would streamline updates with new hires and/or terminations. The user
stations are all running Outlook 2003.
So here's where I'm at: I've created a Personal Address Book with the
necessary names, put it on the server, and wrote a simple batch file to copy
it from the server to the station. Outlook can see the Personal Address Book
and all its data, but any email that gets sent to a user gets kicked back as
undeliverable.
I've done some reading here, and it is apparent that the Personal Address
Book is obsolete. Is there any other way to accomplish this?
