Server Error: Cannot close file "service.cnf"

when i try to upload to my website i get the message - Server Error: Cannot close file "service.cnf". does anybody have any information about how i can get round this?

Contact your host and ask them to run a check on the extensions.

Thanks for your response. At the moment I'm trying to get hold of the hosting company, but they are not replying to my requests for help. So if anyone else has any ideas with the 'Server Error: Cannot close file "service.cnf"' problem which I am having I would be very grateful.
