Server error: Cannot open service.cnf for writing. Insufficient disk space

The web that I mount on a remote drive reports an error when I tried to open
it:

"Server error: Cannot open file "service.cnf" for writing. Insufficient disk
space.

There *is* disk space and I have write access. What do I need to do to fix
this?

PS Last week I had a disk crash on the machine running the FrontPage 2K
client. Maybe it caused an inconsistency in the web on the remote drive.
