Hi everyone,

I have Frontpage 97 and a few days ago I got webhosting with Vistapages.com.
The website is accessable, http://nlms.info/index.htm , the FTP works and
file uploading trough the filemanager included with Vistapages works also.
The Frontpage extensions is installed. The tech support at Vistapages have
checked the entire system on there side of the internet, and they say it
works fine.

My problem is that when I try to publish from within Frontpage 97, I get the
error:

Server error: client closed connection.

I have also used my laptop to test this and it get's the same error. I am
connected trough a home network from linksys. With wires 10/100 lan (?) and
wireless. I have not yet tried to do this with the linksys router removed and
directly on the cable modum, just got the idea after typing this sentence.

I have searched the internet on solutions but can not find any, just like
reading the manual that came with Frontpage 97, no answers in there. I have
also read the two postings on this forum, but they are different then my
problem.

Does someone know how to help me out and have idea's or solutions.

BTW I am originaly from Holland (live in USA though) so that explain the
typo's in here.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Any file uploads thru FTP (or your host panels) have most likely corrupted the FP Server Extensions
- have your host repair / reinstall the FP SE
- then try opening the online site in FP or publishing to it

Hi, I am going to post this, since I got the answer and maybe someone else
may need it in the future.

Microsoft Frontpage 97 is not compatible with the current server extensions,
which will work with FP 2000 - 2003.

I have now FP 2003 and it is working just fine.

At least I was able to buy the cheaper upgrade version. So my FP 97 did
benefit me somewhat.
