Below is message I received today. How can I fix it?

Server Error in '/MacOffice' Application.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
[snip]

This is an error generated by your server in response to some
interchange between it and your computer. Unless you can give us more
details of the set up, and what you were doing when the error occurred,
there isn't enough information in this error report to track down the
problem.

I doubt very much whether it has anything to do with Entourage though -
the type of error doesn't look like something that Entourage could
trigger.

Like most MVPs, I am responding to your query through the public
newsgroup channel (NNTP). Microsoft is planning to close the public
newsgroups which would effectively disable this channel and may affect
the number of answers that are given. Please post any concerns you have
about these plans in this newsgroup so we can forward them on to
Microsoft.

I received the identical error message after the follow series of steps.
1. I closed all open application programs.
2. From the Apple icon, I updated all software.
3. I rebooted the system.
4. I rebooted my cable modem and router.
5. I opened a work document.
6. I clicked on the Help button in the application.
7. Word Help dialog box opened with the error message.

I am using Word for Mac 2008 v12.2.4
Mac OS X v10.6.3
Processor 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Please tell me what additional information you need to diagnose this

2. From the Apple icon, I updated all software.

This only updates Apple applications. Office is updated so you should be OK.

Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or
if it¹s your User¹s folder that contains the problem.

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the
New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching. Test Office there.

If you still see the error in the new user, it's a problem at the base
level. We'll go over the steps if this is the problem.

If it goes away in the new User, then means the problem is in your User's
folder. These can be tricky to find.

Let me know what the tests show.

I received the same error message (see below) upon restarting the computer a couple of days after I had cleaned my desktop, made minor changes in Adobe Bridge, and had sent emails successfully (May 21, 2010). The only difference I noticed was that upon shutting down I received the error note: "Adobe Bridge Type Error; undefined is not an object". It shut down okay.
Upon starting up the computer again Entourage was available, but did not connect with the University Server that it is connected to and anted to be reinstalled. All emails and contacts were gone. I did not reinstall believing that solving this problem might bring back the original connection.
As I am not experiencing any other problems there must be a connection between Bridge and Entourage that has been compromised. Why would such a seemingly minor adjustment wipe out all connections with Entourage.
The only other advise I received from the web was to check if a " blank space" had been inserted in front of the title for the harddrive - no such space existed.
I have searched for a MacOffice application but cannot locate one.
I am using Entourage2008 for Mac, Version12.2.4 (100205)
on Mac OS X v.10.5.8
